Mitel NuPoint
NuPoint Messenger IP allows you to buy the
messaging system you need today, and cost-effectively
add applications, features, and capacity as your business
grows and evolves over time. From basic voice mail to
unified messaging and speech, NuPoint Messenger IP
offers the features you need, when you need them.
Enhance Productivity
NuPoint Messenger IP provides simplified management
of voice, fax, and email messages to greatly enhance
productivity. Users can prioritize and manage their
messages from the interface of their choice – phone,
email, or web—allowing them to work more effectively
from the office, at home or on the road. Teams that
collaborate from disparate locations can message each
other as if they were in the same building.
Single System Solution
NuPoint Messenger IP continues the integration of voice
as an application in the datacenter. All applications run
on a common server configuration and in the same
operating system, delivering a “single system” for voice
mail, unified messaging and speech and eliminating the
need for additional hardware when enhanced
functionality is required.
Low Total Cost of Ownership
Due to its optimized hardware needs and the fact that it
runs in a Linux environment, NuPoint Messenger IP
delivers industry-leading Total Cost of Ownership,
making it the most cost-effective messaging
solution available.
Gain Control with Call Director
NuPoint Messenger IP includes Call Director which
allows users to control how, when, and by whom they
are reached. Call Director is a Web-based interface that
facilitates the creation of both corporate and personal
auto attendants. Calls can be routed based on caller
ID, schedules, multi-level menus, the user’s presence
and more, and include multiple greetings and transfer
modes, such as screened or blind call transfers. With Call
Director templates, administrators can create and assign
templates to end users, simplifying the experience. End
users will only need to enter the missing information,
such as cell numbers and Mitel Teleworker Solution
extension numbers.
Manage with Ease
NuPoint Messenger IP is an easy-to-manage messaging
solution that offers a Web-based management console,
significantly flattening the learning curve for new
administrators. System administrators can enable
mailboxes with a unique set of features, capabilities, and
parameters. There are over 600 capabilities that can be
assigned and configured into over 107 million distinct
classes of service on a single system. Classes of service
and individual features may be changed as often as
desired on an individual mailbox level, without taking
the system out of service. Finally, LAN-based
backup / restore ensures faster recovery.
Presence Infrastructure
First Call Resolution has been dubbed the “holy grail of
business communications” —the proverbial panacea of
happy customers. NuPoint Messenger helps deliver this
by introducing the presence infrastructure for an open
standard interface to commercial presence servers. With
this feature, the Speech Auto Attendant will announce
the presence status of the requested party prior to
routing the call to that person. Callers can decide if they
wish to continue the call or reach out to another party.
Worry-Free Migrations
Centigram, Baypoint, or legacy Mitel NuPoint Messenger
users can migrate to NuPoint Messenger IP with
transparency to end-users because NuPoint is simply the
next generation of these solutions. All the greetings and
messages on the previous system would be preserved.
Whether you have a smaller system or a large 960-port
system with thousands of users, migrations to NuPoint
Messenger IP are simple for administrators and end users
alike. With a migration tool to move the existing
database, messages, and greetings to the new IP-based
system, you’ll be back up and running quickly on NuPoint
Messenger IP.
For migrations from non-NuPoint Messenger systems,
non-Mitel TUIs are available including a numeric TUI, an
Octel-like TUI, and TDD for the hearing impaired.
Fits with Your Existing Infrastructure
NuPoint Messenger IP is a voice over IP (VoIP) solution
that integrates with both VoIP and traditional analog
networks. Whether you have already converged your
voice and data networks, or have plans to do so in the
future, NuPoint Messenger IP will accommodate. For
traditional TDM-based PBX systems, NuPoint Messenger
IP supports digital, T1 / E1 with MSDN or simplified
message desk interface (SMDI), Q.SIG and analog / SMDI
integrations. For large or distributed organizations,
NuPoint Messenger IP also supports simultaneous
integration to multiple private branch exchanges (PBXs).
NuPoint Messenger IP is available in two versions with
the same user interface and features, to meet the needs
of different sizes and types of organizations. Both models
offer the same features and functionality and simply
differ on how large they can scale and their redundancy
and resiliency options.
NuPoint Messenger IP Standard Edition
NuPoint Messenger IP Standard Edition meets the needs
of small, medium, and large enterprises. It scales to 120
ports, over 50,000 users, and offers 960 hours of storage.
Available as a turnkey solution or as a software only
solution that resides on your own IBM or HP server,
NuPoint Messenger IP Standard Edition offers you low
maintenance costs with industry standard hardware and
the Linux® operating system.
NuPoint Messenger IP Model 640
For large enterprises, as well as smaller enterprises with
99.999 percent uptime requirements, the NuPoint
Messenger IP Model 640 is designed to deliver carriergrade
scalability and reliability at an enterprise price
point. It scales to 960 ports, more than 100,000 mail
boxes, and 10,000 hours of storage to easily scale with
your growing organization. The NuPoint Messenger IP
Model 640 comes in a variety of configurations. One
option consists of two fully redundant servers that act as
a single module, configured as a redundant active /
passive pair. If the active server goes down, the passive
server takes over and handles all calls to mailboxes and
all Web and network traffic. With optional continuous
system operation, the fail-over from active to passive
server is fully automated, ensuring that the system is fully
operational with full port capacity within seconds of a
failure. The latest release provides for clustering support
in an active / active load sharing configuration and
supports expansion to four nodes in a single datacenter
or using network attached storage technology spread
across geographically disparate locations.
